Carbon Literate Organisation
In 2023 Ecosurety was accredited with Carbon Literate Organisation Silver status by the Carbon Literacy Project. Carbon Literacy is defined as, ‘an awareness of the carbon dioxide costs and impacts of everyday activities, and the ability and motivation to reduce emissions, on an individual, community and organisational basis’. The organisation status demonstrates that Ecosurety maintains a substantial proportion of its workforce as Carbon Literate and demonstrates its Carbon Literacy through its organisational behaviour.
B Corp™
In 2020 we became the first compliance scheme to be certified B Corp™, joining a global movement of people using business as a force for good. As a B Corp™ certified business, we meet the highest verified standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability - placing people and planet at the same level as profit.
ISO 9001
We have gained certification in ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems. Our Management Systems are certified by a UKAS Accredited Certification Body. ISO 9001 not only helps to ensure that our products and services consistently meet our members requirements, but that quality is consistently and continually improved. The basic principals of ISO 9001 include a strong customer focus, motivation of top management, the process approach and continual improvement.
ISO 14001
We have gained certification in ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems. Our Management Systems are certified by a UKAS Accredited Certification Body. ISO 14001 essentially provides a toolkit for organisations to manage their environmental responsibilities with a certifiable environmental management system. This standard provides reassurance to management, staff and stakeholders that environmental impact is being measured and improved.
ISO 27001
We have gained certification in ISO 27001 Information Security Management. Our Information Security Management Systems are certified by a UKAS Accredited Certification Body. ISO 27001 certifies that Ecosurety operates an Information Security Management System that complies with the requirements of ISO/IEC 27001:2013, as applicable to the provision of environmental compliance services.
ISO 45001
We have gained certification in ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems. Our Management Systems are certified by a UKAS Accredited Certification Body. ISO 45001 sets the standard for Health and Safety Management Systems, demonstrating that we are committed to reducing accidents, complying with law and are continually improving our health and safety performance.
Living Wage Certification
We have been awarded Living Wage Certification in recognition of our commitment to voluntarily take a stand to ensure that our employees, suppliers and contractors can earn a realistic wage that exceeds the legal minimum. More details can be found here.
Memberships
Ecosurety is a member of the Foodservice Packaging Association, the representative voice of the industry, promoting the responsible manufacturing, sourcing, distribution, usage and disposal of food and foodservice packaging.
Ecosurety is a member of the Food & Drink Exporters Association, a not-for-profit trade association that promotes UK food and drink companies to the international buying community and represents the interests of exporters to the UK government.
Ecosurety is a member of the New Plastics Economy Global Commitment launched by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, in recognition of our commitment to invest in new recycling innovation and technology on behalf of our members.
Ecosurety is a Silver Affiliated member of CIWM which confirms our excellence in waste management and our commitment to professional standards of waste management.
RECycling Of Used Plastics Limited (RECOUP) is a registered charity and not-for-profit member based organisation. RECOUP works in collaboration with all stakeholders to promote, develop, stimulate and increase the levels of plastics recycling within the UK.
Ecosurety is a member of The UK Plastics Pact, an initiative launched by WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Programme) and the Ellen MacArthur foundation to tackle the issue of plastics in this country.
Ecosurety is the first compliance scheme to be a member of OPRL, who have developed a range of tools to support members in designing and producing recyclable packaging, engaging consumers in recycling it effectively, and local authorities in collecting it. Their ambition is to support every stage in the packaging materials cycle to help realise a truly circular economy.
