Birger Schaathun
IT manager

Birger joined the team in early March 2014. He has extensive experience within companies ranging from £25m to £950m-plus turnover, typically overseeing entire IT environments across software, hardware and infrastructure. In previous roles he has been heading up IT departments and managed a range of team sizes ranging from five to 18.

Birger's core aim is to ensure that technology supports high-level business objectives. His IT environments are designed to improve efficiency, reduce cost, enhance performance and optimise return on investment and total cost of ownership.

Birger graduated from University of Leeds with a BEng in fuel and energy engineering in 1987. He then spent two years training to be a chartered accountant in a practice in Woking, before moving on to a career in IT.

Birger is married to Sarah, who is a chemistry teacher at a local high school; they have two nearly-grown-up children and live in Evesham. Birger is Norwegian but has lived in the UK since 1983. He speaks fluent Norwegian and basic German. Plus his English is pretty good too!
