Increasing data demands of evolving EPR

After moving to Ecosurety, a leading retailer with over 1,400 stores needed to significantly improve the coverage, quality and detail of packaging data from their suppliers, due to the increasing data complexity of EPR and upcoming eco-modulated fees. They needed to:

Capture more granular and complex packaging data for 9,000+ SKUs from 700+ suppliers.

Obtain RAM data

Capture additional complex data per packaging component for the Recyclability Assessment Methodology (RAM) requirements.

Maintain data coverage & quality

Ensure data remains accurate and complete over time as reporting requirements increase.

Our solution

Super-scaled supplier engagement with Ecosurety Collect

We initiated an Ecosurety Collect project to request comprehensive packaging component data from suppliers on the retailer's behalf, prioritising the top 45% that were responsible for 95% of products.

Using Collect we:

Requested complex packaging data from over 700 suppliers
Enabled suppliers to upload component-level data directly into Ecosurety Collect
Validated the data via our automated checks and our data analyst team
Prompted suppliers to regularly review submitted data and update any changes
Provided regular progress reports to the retailer
