Ecosurety recognised as a 2022 Best For The World™ B Corps for its governance

Ecosurety has once again been named a 2022 Best for the World™ B Corp™ in recognition of its outstanding its governance. The organisation received its first award under the same impact area in 2021.

Best for the World is a distinction granted by B Lab to Certified B Corporations (B Corps) whose verified B Impact Scores in the five impact areas evaluated in the B Impact Assessment — community, customers, environment, governance, and workers — rank in the top 5% of all B Corps in their corresponding size group.

Ecosurety has earned this honour because of its best practices in governance for its overall mission, ethics, impact, transparency, and the ability to formally consider stakeholders in decision making through its corporate structure.

A commitment to excellence

Will Ghali, CEO of Ecosurety, said: “We are beyond honoured to receive this award again. Being ranked in the top percentile of all B Corps globally not only gives cause to celebrate but importantly, it bestows responsibility on us to continue to seek the best ways to drive positive change, not only for the environment but for our employees, stakeholders, and the community.

“We are happy to have scored high in the ‘Governance’ impact area, and we are committed to improving the rest of our scores by meeting the highest standards of packaging compliance for our customers, continuing to help in shaping new legislation and providing high-level policy expertise to drive positive environmental change, and striving for excellence in employee satisfaction and the support of our community.

“We are really proud to be a Certified B Corp and we will continue collaborating with the global B Corp community to create real and lasting positive impact for all our stakeholders.”

Award criteria

The Best for the World recognition is administered by B Lab, the global non-profit network that certifies and mobilises B Corps, which are businesses that meet high standards of positive social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.

Not only does B Corp Certification evaluate a product or service, but it also assesses the overall social and environmental impact of the company that stands behind it.

To achieve B Corp Certification, a company must meet the following criteria:

  • a score of at least 80 points on the B Impact Assessment
  • an evaluation of a company’s positive impact, and pass a risk review
  • an evaluation of a company’s negative impact
  • change their corporate governance structure to be accountable to all stakeholders, not just shareholders; and
  • exhibit transparency by allowing information about their B Corp Certification performance to be publicly available on their B Corp profile on B Lab’s website.
