Ecosurety sponsor the 2024 Carbon Literate Organisation Awards

We are delighted to be the headline sponsor of the Carbon Literacy Project’s annual award ceremony, which will celebrate a record-breaking number of organisations receiving Carbon Literate Organisation accreditation.
Carbon Literacy is 'an awareness of the carbon dioxide costs and impacts of everyday activities, and the ability and motivation to reduce emissions, on an individual, community and organisational basis'. It is achieved through participation in, and successful testing and certification of individuals as Carbon Literate, at the completion of a day’s worth of learning and action that is accredited and certified by the Carbon Literacy Project.
A Carbon Literate Organisation (CLO) is an organisation accredited as being “culturally Carbon Literate”; having certified a substantial proportion of its workforce as Carbon Literate and engaged its stakeholders and wider community in action to cut carbon emissions.
The CLO Awards take place on 13 June in Manchester and celebrate the amazing efforts of 247 (and growing) accredited CLOs who have educated and engaged their workforce and stakeholders about climate change, its impacts, and solutions. These efforts include practical steps employees can take to reduce organisational carbon emissions.
Why are we sponsoring this event?
We have been on our own Carbon Literacy journey over the past two years and we are delighted to be recognised as a Silver Carbon Literate Organisation and a Silver Partner at this year’s awards ceremony.
Since 2022, over 50% of our team has been certified as Carbon Literate, and we have taken a wide range of actions to cut carbon across our operations. We are working hard to ensure carbon is considered at a board level, to expand our carbon data and analytics expertise, reduce the carbon impact of data services, and scope the carbon impact of new and existing suppliers.
As part of Carbon Literacy Action Day in 2023, we launched a bespoke Carbon Literacy for the Packaging Sector training course for our packaging producer members and recycling suppliers. Over 20 external organisations have now been trained and empowered to not only consider the impact of their packaging beyond recyclability and compliance costs, but leverage data about their packaging to make informed decisions.
