Ecosurety wins Sustainability award at the Bristol Life Awards

Ecosurety has been named Sustainability award winner at the Bristol Life Awards, celebrating organisations that are making a meaningful difference to the city and beyond.
The award was presented on Thursday 26 March at Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol.
The Bristol Life Awards recognise the achievements of businesses based in and around Bristol and are widely regarded as the city’s most prestigious business awards. This year, more than 500 businesses were nominated across the award categories, with seven businesses selected as finalists in the sustainability category.
Turning sustainability ambition into measurable change
The Sustainability award distinguishes Bristol‑based organisations that have demonstrated a thoughtful, impactful approach to sustainability over the past year. Ecosurety won the award for the tangible progress we made in 2025, supporting businesses responsible for over one million tonnes of UK household packaging each year to comply with the newly introduced Packaging Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) legislation.
The award additionally highlights the launch of our impact strategy. In 2025 we selected three core objectives to focus our efforts on where we can deliver the greatest impact in packaging sustainability:
- Increase the amount of recyclable packaging place on the market
- Increase the amount of packaging being recycled
- Increase the amount of reusable packaging placed on the market
Championing Carbon Literacy
Focussing on these objectives ensures that our every action delivers measurable change, as reflected in our delivery of Carbon Literacy training. In 2025, we achieved Carbon Literate Organisation Gold, reflecting several years of investment in accredited, climate‑focused training. Our Carbon Literacy programme, developed for the packaging sector and accredited by the Carbon Literacy Project, empowers individuals to understand carbon impacts, influence packaging design decisions and drive behaviour change. With over 80% of employees certified, carbon considerations are embedded across our organisation, while delivery of the programme to over 40 member organisations has already led to pledges to save more than 30,000 tonnes of CO2e.
Beyond our work to support the UK’s biggest brands, Ecosurety was recognised for our ongoing contribution to Bristol’s circular economy, including initiatives that promote reuse and reduce single‑use packaging across the city.
