Ecosurety join FPA Sustainability & Government Affairs Committee

The Foodservice Packaging Association (FPA) brings together distributors and manufacturers of food and drink packaging to raise standards and promote responsible manufacturing, sourcing, distribution, usage and disposal.

The FPA has a wide-ranging environmental agenda, supported by a Sustainability and Government Affairs Committee (SAGA) who meet regularly throughout the year to agree the Association policies.

Ecosurety will now lend industry expertise and policy insight to SAGA through the involvement of head of partnerships Jon Brookes. Other members of the FPA Environmental Committee include representatives from Sodexo, Dart Products Europe, Bunzl Catering Supplies, BaxterStorey, Brakes, Benders Paper Cups and Huhtamaki.

Greatly increase UK compliance resource

The FPA commented “We are pleased to announce Jon Brookes, of FPA member and compliance scheme Ecosurety, is joining the FPA’s Sustainability and Government Affairs Committee."

"Jon will greatly increase our UK’s compliance system resource, particularly in regard to Packaging Recovery Note price volatility and transparency as well as providing input to the next stage of consultations on EPR, which we anticipate will be launched at the end of the year.”

Jon Brookes commented “We are delighted to join the Sustainability and Government Affairs Committee to support FPA members and the foodservice industry as a whole, tackling pertinent issues including PRN reform, Deposit Return Schemes and recycling on the go, to name but a few.”
