Ecosurety leads expert panel debate at Packaging Innovations 2018

With the hot topics of plastic packaging and the 25 Year Environment Plan at the forefront of the national agenda, we lead an expert panel discussion next month to gain insight and perspective from across industry.

‘How to tackle the packaging problem - insights from packaging experts, recyclers and Local Authorities’ will take place on the Ecopak stage at Packaging Innovations 2018, on 1 March at 12pm. Located at the NEC Birmingham, Packaging Innovations is the UK’s largest annual event for the whole packaging supply chain.

This session comes at a pertinent time; Michael Gove has been “haunted” by Blue Planet II, Phillip Hammond mentioned single-use plastics in the Autumn Budget and even Teresa May has committed to take a tough stance on single-use packaging in the new 25 Year Environment Strategy. Meanwhile industry has been considering deposit return schemes, a “latte levy” and how to improve recycling “on the go”.

Crucially there has been very little change in packaging legislation in the last 20 years, so are we on the precipice of a major shift? The panel will feature insights from:

You can book a free ticket for the two-day event here. Other speakers at the event include Coca-Cola, M&S, Tesco, Nestle, Innocent, Co-op, the British Plastics Federation and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation.

Shining a light on the latest thinking, aspirations and challenges

Ecosurety will also be leading an expert panel discussion at the UK Bottled Water Conference at the Congress Centre in London on the 15 March, more details will be released soon.

James Piper, managing director of Ecosurety commented “We are at a unique junction in the world of recycling, waste and compliance. These panel discussions are a fantastic opportunity to publicly explore, debate and provide insight on the key issues of the day across a wide spectrum of industry, shining a light on the latest thinking, aspirations and challenges that we face.”

Please do come along to meet our expert panels, hear the latest insights and pose your own questions. We look forward to seeing you there!
