On the same evening Ecosurety won across three categories at two separate award ceremonies, the Business Green Leaders Awards and the MRW National Recycling Awards.
A double win at the MRW National Recycling Awards 2017 saw Ecosurety scoop both the ‘Efficiency initiative of the year’ and ‘Team of the year (Private Sector)’ awards. The prestigious awards are the UK’s biggest celebration of recycling excellence, recognising those from across the industry and beyond who are addressing recycling, reuse and waste reduction.
Following a rigorous judging process, the Ecosurety PRN transparency platform Circularety was recognised in the ‘Efficiency initiative of the year’ category, championing those that have applied fresh thinking or have created innovative systems that demonstrably improve waste and recycling operations.
In recognition of the company’s talented team, considerable work ethic and can-do attitude, Ecosurety also won ‘Team of the Year (Private Sector)’, recognising teams who have shown a collective commitment to go above and beyond what is expected in order to deliver top results, demonstrating more than just best practice.
Robin Latchem, editor of Materials Recycling World, said "The glitzy awards evening may now be over but our NRA winners will be justly entitled to bask in the glow of their success for the next 12 months. A terrific night of celebration marked out a superb set of winners – we congratulate them all and thank everyone who entered.”
Meanwhile at the Business Green Leaders Awards 2017, billed as Europe’s most prestigious and high profile environmental awards that shine a light on organisations and individuals who are redefining what it means to be a successful business, managing director James Piper won ‘Young sustainability executive of the year’.
This was in recognition of those under 35 who have helped to drive substantial environmental improvements across their organisation and the wider green economy. This was in part due to his efforts working with big brands and reprocessors to increase transparency in the PRN system.
An unprecedented achievement
“We are absolutely over the moon with this unprecedented win of three highly respected industry awards on the same night! An award for Circularety is further recognition that positive change driven by those within the system, rather than depending on legislative change, is a step in the right direction.’ commented James Piper.
“To also win an award in recognition of our wider team is a wonderful achievement, one that is thoroughly deserved. We are immensely proud of all the people who make Ecosurety a success – we just couldn’t do it without them.”
